This piece was created as the cover art for the Agitator issue about where the Catholic Worker is going. Peter Maurin was one of the founders of the Catholic Worker movement with Dorothy Day in 1933. We hold the values and traditions true in our hearts, as we also maintain a spirituality of open eyes and hearts to the continual movement of the spirit that seeks to refine our practices, commitments, and culture. As we continue to build a new future, discuss what is working and what isn’t, the spirit guides us. What new values might be emerging? Are new works of mercy needed? What remains constant and what may need to shift? We look backwards in reflection and forwards towards the future on the horizon.
